The FIA Formula 4 & Formula Regional Championships are designed as entry-level open-wheel racing series offering young talent the opportunity to demonstrate their skills on an international platform while keeping affordability and safety as key elements. The United States-based Championships align with the global FIA development ladder philosophy of using common components to provide a cost-efficient, reliable and powerful racing structure as drivers ascend through the levels on their way to U.S. or global racing success.

The FR Americas Championship debuted in 2018 with the first North American application of the Halo. Continuing to grow in 2019, the Championship saw a total of 17 drivers take the field during the season, and with the announcement of the Honda Indy Lights Scholarship, the 2020 season started with 19 entries at the opener in June.

During the 2018 season, the F4 U.S. Championship Powered by Honda averaged 31 cars per event, a world record for F4. We set a world record with 38 entries at the 2019 F1 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas. The 2020 season kicked off after a delayed start with 33 cars, including 24 rookies.

FORMULA RACE PROMOTIONS

Formula Race Promotions (FRP) is the East Coast’s premier hosting body for formula cars and prototype racing. From the highly competitive F1600 series to our new for 2020 Prototype Series, along with our core F2000, Atlantic and Formula Vee programs through the Right Coast Formula Ford Series (RCFFS), FRP offers a wide array of championships for teams and drivers alike to participate in. Formed in 2006, Formula Race Promotions is sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing and hold events at some of the east coast’s most exciting and prestigious motorsports venues. Formula Race Promotions offers five different and unique championship programs to choose from keeping a budget and the end customer as their primary focus. Constantly reaching down to the grassroots of motorsports, karting, FRP is always searching for that next wave of racers that will either use FRP as a stepping stone for the future or become a valuable member of our motorsport’s family competing with us year in and year out.
