GRAND MARSHAL

BARBER HISTORICS

Hurley Haywood

From his upbringing in Chicago and Wheaton, Illinois, to his chance meeting with Peter Gregg, Hurley Haywood was destined to drive anything he could get his hands on. Life-long relationships with the Porsche Factory Team and the Brumos dealership provided unimaginable opportunities for racing and career successes.

With three overall victories at Le Mans, five at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and two at the 12 Hours of Sebring, Haywood is the world’s most successful endurance sportscar racer. In addition, Haywood raced in the International Race of Champions (IROC) four times, the Indianapolis 500, won championships in both IMSA and SCCA and won dozens of other races during a career spanning more than 43 years.

He has been a head instructor at both the Brumos Driving Experience and the Porsche Driving Experience located at Barber Motorsports Park. Hurley will serve as Grand Marshal for Barber Historics and will be the Guest of Honor for the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum on Saturday evening.
