Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring the success of the event and your support is invaluable! We will be enlisting the help of approximately 100 volunteers to work on various committees, but more importantly we want to ensure that each individual has a once in a lifetime experience.


All volunteers will be required to purchase a volunteer package. The package includes the volunteer uniform one (1) t-shirt, one (1) ball cap, one (1) Volunteer Badge with Garage Access, one (1) 3-Day Guest Pass with Garage Access, food and beverage while on shift and preferred parking. All for only $15.

Committee Selection

Each volunteer is given the opportunity to list three committee preferences. You will be notified of your committee assignment after we receive and process your application. Positions are granted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Committees include:

  • A-Team- A "utility" position, A-TEAM volunteers will perform a variety of tasks throughout the event. This position is ideal for the problem solver that's not afraid to fill in with different committees at different times.
  • Admissions- Be the first face that visitors see when they enter the park and act as an ambassador for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. You will be working at the gates greeting guests, providing customer service, and scanning tickets.
  • Paddock Marshals- Responsible for pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the Garage area.
  • Product Distribution- Responsible for making sure all coolers are filled with drinks and water each morning and replenished throughout the day.
  • Race Control Security- Responsible for checking credentials and monitoring security at the Race Control Building.
  • Volunteer Headquarters/Guest Services- Responsible for checking-in volunteers and distributing meal vouchers as well as guest relations throughout the park.


As part of the volunteer package, each volunteer will receive a credential that will serve as a ticket to access the event during the days you are working as well as the days you are not scheduled to volunteer.
